Hull KR half-back Mikey Lewis has avoided a suspension that would have ruled him out of Thursday's World Club Challenge against Brisbane Broncos.

The England international was sin-binned in Thursday's shock defeat at Super League newcomers York Knights for a trip on Liam Harris.

He has been given five penalty points by the Rugby Football League's match review panel, one short of the six that would have seen him handed a one-game ban.

The Robins, who won the domestic treble last season, face the Australian champions at Hull FC's MKM Stadium on Thursday.

On Lewis' yellow card, which came when his side were 18-6 up before losing 19-18, Hull KR head coach Willie Peters told BBC Radio Humberside: "It was there to see what Mikey did. He needs to learn from what he did because it was a key moment in the game.

"He knows and he's owned it, but I want to see some action off the back of it."

Meanwhile, St Helens' Jackson Hastings has also avoided a ban as he was also given five penalty points for late contact on Warrington's Cai Taylor-Wray in the Wire's derby win.

Catalans Dragons' Ben Garcia has been given a one-match ban for late contact on the passer in their win over Huddersfield Giants and Hull FC's Ligi Sao has been given a two-game suspension for dangerous contact in their victory over Bradford Bulls.
