Thibaut Courtois is expanding his horizons beyond the pitch. The Real Madrid goalkeeper has become a minority shareholder in FC Le Mans, a Ligue 2 side.

The investment has been made through his company NXTPLAY. The Brazilian fund Outfield remains the club's majority shareholder. Courtois now joins a star-studded group of co-owners, which already includes Novak Djokovic, Felipe Massa, and Kevin Magnussen.

Currently sitting fifth in Ligue 2, Le Mans are aiming for promotion to Ligue 1. The top two teams go up automatically, while those finishing third to fifth battle it out in the playoffs for a shot at the top flight.
