Walls, who has been part of the staff for the past three years, takes over for Rodney Wells who stepped down after 15 seasons. Wells led the Panthers to a 136-50 record and seven double-digit win seasons before resigning earlier this month.
"Nine years ago, when I was playing for coach Wells, I always wanted to be like him," Walls told the Orlando Sentinel. "For this opportunity to be presented it is nothing short of a blessing." The team went 9-4 last season and finished as the state's No. 76 ranked team.
