Browns Waive TE Wright for LSU Return

The Cleveland Browns are waiving tight end Dae'Quan Wright, who has committed to return to college football at LSU in 2026 if he clears waivers.

The move could make Wright the first player to ever play college football after being on an NFL roster. Wright, who played for Ole Miss under current LSU head coach Lane Kiffin, is among several former Rebels granted an injunction for another year of college eligibility. capturengo.org

Originally signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in May, Wright was waived on August 10 before being picked up by Cleveland. He participated in warm-ups for the Browns' preseason game against Buffalo but didn't play.
