BYU Offense Preps for Spring Ball

The BYU Cougars begin preparations for spring ball with returning stars Bear Bachmeier and LJ Martin looking to build on their successful 2025 season.

BYU's spring practices are expected to begin in the next three weeks as the Cougars look to build on their 12-2 season that included a Big 12 title game appearance. Quarterback Bear Bachmeier returns after a stellar freshman campaign where he passed for 3,033 yards and 15 touchdowns, while running back LJ Martin was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The Cougars' offensive returns include key backups Treyson Bourguet and Cole Hagen at quarterback, with Sione Moa, Jovesa Damuni, and Preston Rex competing for running back roles. However, the team recently announced that former receiver Parker Kingston is no longer with the team.
