Champions League Draw: Arsenal Face Real Madrid

Det fremgår av en lengre uttalelse fra Det europeiske fotballforbundet torsdag. Den er sendt ut i kjølvannet av at forbundets styre og fotballpresidenter fra en lang rekke land møttes i Monaco.
Anledningen var trekningen av ligafasen i Champions League, men den ble også benyttet til et møte om den pågående krisen i Det internasjonale fotballforbundet.
Tidligere i sommer ble alle 55 medlemsforbund i Uefa enige om å boikotte kommende Fifa-turneringer som følge av at tilliten til Fifa og president Gianni Infantino var borte.
Onsdag meldte så flere medier at boikottplanene var avblåst. Årsaken var at Uefa hadde fått tilstrekkelige garantier for at det prosjektet med å involvere private investorer i gjennomføringen av fotball-VM er skrotet og ikke vil gjenoppstå.
Etter torsdagens møte i Monaco opplyser imidlertid Uefa at boikott-trusselen fortsatt ligger der, men at den er satt på vent. (NTB)
