Colts Optimistic About Ward's 2026 Future

Colts GM Chris Ballard and coach Shane Steichen express optimism about cornerback Charvarius Ward's potential return in 2026, despite his previous concussion concerns.

After suffering three concussions during the 2025 season, Ward expressed uncertainty about his NFL future, noting he might retire if he suffers another concussion. However, nearly two months removed from the season, Ward is reportedly in a good frame of mind and looking to continue playing.

"He's in a good frame of mind... his frame of mind is really good right now," Ballard said. "All indications is he's wanting to move forward and play." Coach Shane Steichen added, "I had conversations with him a couple days ago, and he's in a good headspace, feeling good."
