The 21-year-old Norwegian followed up her recent 20km freestyle silver with a dominant performance on home soil. In the men's race, Casper Kvam Grindhagen took silver, narrowly beaten by Niko Anttola of Finland by 30.8 seconds. Several other Norwegian athletes secured top-ten finishes, including Oline Vestad (5th) and Mali Eidnes Bakken (6th).
