Kelce, Chiefs in Communication on New Deal

Chiefs coach Andy Reid confirms communication exists with Travis Kelce's representatives regarding a potential new contract.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters on Friday that there is communication between the team and Travis Kelce's representatives about a new deal. "As long as there's communication, I'm good," Reid said. "That means people want to move forward. I think that's where Travis is."

Kelce is set to become a free agent for the first time in his career after the 2023 season. While there have been retirement discussions, Reid indicated the team is proceeding with contract talks. The 34-year-old tight end is unlikely to play for another team, making it either a Chiefs contract or retirement. Financial terms will need to be right for Kelce, who has lucrative business ventures outside of football.
