NFL Network analyst Charles Davis has Miami defensive lineman Akheem Mesidor heading to the Detroit Lions with the 17th selection in the 2026 NFL draft. The 6-foot-3, 265-pound edge rusher would complement Pro Bowler Aidan Hutchinson, adding much-needed pass-rush opposite the All-Pro defensive end.
Mesidor had a breakout season at Miami, recording 63 tackles, 12.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles. He shined in the spotlight with 5.5 sacks during the Hurricanes' four-game College Football Playoff run. At 25 years old, he could provide immediate help for a Lions team looking to win now.
