McMorris, Spalding Miss Olympic Slopestyle Podium

Canada’s Mark McMorris finished eighth and Cameron Spalding tenth in the Olympic men’s slopestyle final, missing the podium after a crash that left McMorris with injuries.

Mark McMorris, 32, fell in two of three attempts and suffered a concussion, pelvic bone bruising and an abdominal strain during a big‑air training crash on Feb. 4. He was cleared to compete in slopestyle and finished third in qualifying, but ended up eighth in the 12‑man final.

Cameron Spalding, 20, the 2024‑25 World Cup champion, finished two places behind McMorris, missing the podium as China’s Su Yiming took gold, Japan’s Taiga Hasegawa silver and the U.S.’s Jake Canter bronze.
