Casper Ruud and Nicolai Budkov Kjær secured wins in the US Open qualifiers on Tuesday, advancing in their respective matches.

Casper Ruud and his new partner, Diana Shnaider, advanced to the next round of the US Open mixed doubles by defeating Taylor Fritz and Jessica Pegula 4-2, 4-1.

Nicolai Budkov Kjær also claimed a hard-fought win, defeating Maks Kasnikowski 2-1 in sets (7-6, 4-6, 6-4). Kjær faces Australian Christopher O'Connell next to stay in contention for the main draw. mchezo.co.za
