Sarfaraz Ahmed Retires From All Cricket

Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has retired from all forms of cricket, bringing an end to a career that included leading Pakistan to victory in the 2017 Champions Trophy.

Sarfaraz Ahmed, who captained Pakistan to a memorable 2017 Champions Trophy triumph against India, announced his retirement through a Pakistan Cricket Board statement. The wicketkeeper-batter, who last represented Pakistan in a Test against Australia in December 2023, has been tipped to become the national Test team's head coach.

The 38-year-old Karachi-born cricketer has already been given several responsibilities within Pakistan's cricket structure, including being a member of the national selection committee and mentor for the Under-19 and Shaheens squads.
