Scruggs Steps In as Lions' Starting Center

Juice Scruggs, who was initially considered a throw-in in the David Montgomery trade from the Texans to the Lions, will now start at center against the Saints. The unexpected promotion comes after Cade Mays, who was expected to start, injured his wrist and was placed on injured reserve.

Scruggs, a 2023 second-round pick by the Texans, had been working mostly at guard during the offseason. While he admitted feeling overwhelmed when first moved to center, he's now growing more comfortable with the role. "Things have slowed down. I'm definitely feeling more comfortable and ready to play," Scruggs said. He previously started eight games at center with the Texans, giving him some experience at the position. realschule-moosburg.de
