Steelers QB Howard Evaluated for Head Injury

Pittsburgh Steelers backup quarterback Will Howard is being evaluated for a head injury after reporting an issue to medical staff during the team's 28-27 loss to the Bills.

Howard was unavailable for his postgame interviews after the injury occurred in the second half of Thursday's game. The Steelers had planned to keep four quarterbacks on their 53-player roster, but a concussion would clear the way for Howard to begin the season on injured reserve.

Howard spent most of last season on injured reserve due to a hand injury in training camp. He went 9-of-15 for 69 yards with two touchdowns and an interception against the Bills, while backup Drew Allar replaced him in the second half and went 9-of-18 for 88 yards. tbzikra.org
