Steelers Re-sign TE Washington to 4-Year Deal

The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to terms with tight end Darnell Washington on a four-year, $42 million extension with $21 million guaranteed.

The Steelers drafted Washington in the third round in 2023, and he has shown steady improvement throughout his career. As a rookie, Washington was primarily used as a blocker, recording just seven catches for 61 yards.

His production increased to 19 receptions for 200 yards and a touchdown in 2024, before reaching 31 catches for 364 yards and another touchdown last season. Despite the presence of Pat Freiermuth at the position, Washington has played more than 500 offensive snaps in each of his first three seasons. forestarrow.rest
