19-year-old Rafael Jódar overcame a two-set deficit to defeat Pablo Carreño Busta 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 and secure a quarter-final spot against Alexander Zverev at Roland Garros.

Jódar, the 27th seed, recovered from 2-0 down in the match to dominate the final three sets, marking the first time he has fought back from two sets down in his career.

Having been ranked No 707 a year ago, Jódar has enjoyed a historic clay-court season with 19 wins and three losses, propelling him toward a top 30 ranking. rocore.sbs
