Keelan, who had been pursuing a career in Europe, committed to NASCAR after an incident at a karting event in Italy. The 13-year-old will drive the No. 62 Toyota Camry with ExxonMobil sponsorship in dozens of late model races this season, partnering with RACKLEY W.A.R. and Kevin Harvick, Inc.
The move marks a departure for the Harvick family, as Kevin Harvick spent his 23-year career driving for Chevrolet and Ford, never for Toyota. The younger Harvick aims to follow his father's path to the Cup Series, with a potential Daytona 500 debut in 2031 when he'll be eligible for 'The Great American Race' his father won 24 years earlier.
