US 'Blade Angels' Target 2026 Olympic Medal Break

The United States women's figure skating team—Alysa Liu, Amber Glenn and Isabeau Levito—are poised to break a 20‑year medal drought at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.

The trio, known as the Blade Angels, rank in the top five of the International Skating Union standings and all earned medals at the U.S. Championships in St. Louis. Their combined strength has sparked speculation that the U.S. could secure a podium sweep in the ladies’ event, a feat not seen since 2006.

Former champions Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir praised the team's momentum, while Amber Glenn said that if the skaters perform to their best, a medal is likely. The athletes represent diverse regions—California, Texas and New Jersey—highlighting the breadth of U.S. talent.
