USA crushes Sweden to reach hockey gold final

Team USA defeated Sweden 5-0 in the Olympic women's hockey semifinal Monday, advancing to the gold medal game and extending their historic shutout streak.

The Americans scored four goals in a three-minute span during the second period to break open a tight game. Five different players found the net for Team USA, which has now outscored opponents 31-1 through six Olympic games.

This victory extends the longest shutout streak in Olympics history to 331:23. The U.S. will face either Canada or Switzerland in the gold medal game on Thursday in Milan.
