Inter Milan 1-2 Bodo/Glimt – Swiss Center-Back Shoots Nerazzurri In The Foot: Italy Megastar Below His Standard

Inter Milan stars Manuel Akanji and Nicolo Barella flopped in last night’s underwhelming 2-1 home defeat to Bodo/Glimt.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the former’s rookie mistake denied Inter a chance to turn the Champions League tie on its head.

Despite establishing himself as a key figure in Cristian Chivu’s defense this season, Manuel Akanji faltered when it mattered most.

Indeed, his reckless back pass helped Bodo/Glimt find the opening goal, putting the Nerazzurri in a virtually impossible situation.

Down by three goals with less than 30 minutes on the clock, Inter could not recover.

Meanwhile, the rest of the team failed to live up to expectations.

Indeed, stand-in captain Nicolo Barella fell short of his high standard, often struggling to find the final ball.

Though he put on another energetic performance, imprecision and erratic decision plagued his attacking output.
