We got late word that Labaron Philon will indeed sit out tonight’s game against the Bulldogs.

Alabama basketball will sit Labaron Philon for its game against Mississippi State.

The sophomore point guard appeared on the SEC availability report as questionable when it first published ahead of the matchup, but his status changed to out on Wednesday, Feb. 25.

Philon, who has played through a nagging thigh-groin issue this season, has been dealing with an undisclosed injury. In recent news conferences, Crimson Tide coach Nate Oats emphasized the importance of getting the starter healthy.

This game just got a whole lot more interesting. In addition to the offense Philon provides, someone else is going to have to step up on star Mississippi State point guard Josh Hubbard who is capable of going nuclear on any given night.

Hope for the best.

The game tips off at 8pm CT and will be televised on ESPNU.

This is your game thread.

Roll Tide.
