All eyes are on the 2026 NFL Combine this week, and eight former Michigan Wolverines were invited to participate. Those players are:

  • HB Max Bredeson
  • WR Donaven McCulley
  • TE Marlin Klein
  • DL Rayshaun Benny
  • DL Jaishawn Barham
  • DL Derrick Moore
  • LB Jimmy Rolder
  • K Dominic Zvada

Michigan has had a player selected in the NFL Draft for 87 consecutive years, and that streak is highly likely to continue. The real question is how many Michigan players get drafted.

Well, the NFL Combine can certainly help some of these guys get picked. Here’s what to watch for and what stands out as players get ready to do their workouts this week.

Can Derrick Moore show enough to get picked up in the first round?

This seems unlikely after the news broke on Wednesday that edge rusher Derrick Moore will not compete in some of the running drills after suffering a hamstring injury. Now the question is can Moore do enough in workouts leading up to the 2026 NFL Draft to go in the first round.

Last year, three Wolverines went in the first round, extending the university’s streak to seven years with a first-round pick. It would take a lot, as most projections have Moore as a Day 2 pick, but never say never.

How well does TE Marlin Klein perform?

The announcement that Marlin Klein was heading to the NFL was a surprise for many of us. While we’ve heard about his athleticism for years, he didn’t exactly have a standout senior season in Ann Arbor (he finished with 24 catches for 248 yards and just one touchdown). He’s probably a Day 3 pick anyways, but he also could boost his stock with an elite NFL Combine performance.

What’s a realistic next step for Max Bredeson?

Bredeson is projected to be an undrafted free agent or a late-round pick. With an injury at the end of the year and not a lot of stats to show for, that’s not too surprising. We’ll see what his participation looks like this week, but you have to think there’s a spot for him somewhere in the NFL given his leadership and blocking abilities.

Can K Dominic Zvada get his spark back?

Zvada ended his college career on a not-so-high note. Unfortunately, the inconsistencies may have hurt him in the long run. It’ll be interesting to see how he looks at the NFL Combine and if he’s able to get that spark back that made him so automatic.

Which Wolverine do you think needs to have the best showing at the NFL Combine this year? Let us know down in the comments below!
