COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M baseball is preparing to take the road against a Power Four opponent.
The Aggies (8-0) made the 180-mile drive north to Arlington to open a three-game stretch at Globe Life Field, with a battle against Virginia Tech first in the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series.
It's the first-ever meeting between the Aggies and the Hokies (7-1).

Both teams have had strong starts to 2026, with Virginia Tech winning three in a row after a 9-8 defeat to Rutgers in 10 innings.
A&M scored 25 runs Tuesday against Lamar and will hand the ball to starting pitcher Shane Sdao, who is 2-0 this season with a 2.92 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 12⅓ innings.
Brett Renfrow is expected to get the start for the Hokies. Renfrow is a 6-foot-3, right-hander who is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA and nine strikeouts in two appearances.
The Hokies are led by sophomore infielder Sam Grube, who is hitting .452 with two home runs and eight RBIs.
