Turkey Talisman’s Inter Milan Future In Doubt As Club Weigh Up Contract Renewal Vs Summer Sale

Hakan Calhanoglu and his Inter Milan future hang in the balance, with the club yet to decide whether to renew his contract or cash in on the Turkey international this summer in what promises to be a defining few months for the midfielder.

According to Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto, via FCInterNews, Calhanoglu’s contract runs until 2027 and the coming weeks will be crucial.

If Inter and the player reach an agreement on an extension, the matter is settled.

If not, a summer sale becomes a genuine possibility.

Indeed, with a fee in the region of €30 million considered a fair valuation, in line with figures discussed during the January window.

Galatasaray have been linked heavily in the Turkish media, but no concrete offer has yet materialised from the Istanbul club.

For now, all focus remains on finishing the season strongly.

Elsewhere, Romano and Moretto reaffirmed Inter’s intention to trigger their buy-back clause on Aleksandar Stankovic.

The €23 million fee is ready, and the club are keen to bring the Serbia youngster back from Club Brugge.

This is despite interest from several Premier League sides.

The key question now is what role Inter envision for him.

And, indeed, how they build a project around a player they clearly regard as central to their future.
