Ex-Broncos QB shares encouraging message to players not invited to NFL combine

The NFL combine is taking center stage this weekend, and all eyes are on the 319 prospects from all position groups who will be participating in Indianapolis.

However, a former Denver Broncos quarterback, Ben DiNucci, wanted to give an encouraging message to the rest of the athletes who weren't invited to the scouting event. "Friendly reminder to all the guys who have NFL dreams that aren't at the combine this weekend ..... Who cares," DiNucci wrote on his Twitter/X page.

DiNucci went on to document his own experiences, despite not having any significant invitations to the Senior Bowl, or the NFL combine. "I had a 5 year NFL career, started on Sunday Night Football, and played longer than I ever thought I would've," DiNucci wrote. "Guess what? no combine(,) no senior bowl invites(,) no pro day."

DiNucci didn't let the lack of collegiate recognition stand in his way through his career. DiNucci was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL draft out of Pitt, starting just one game in 2020. He then dominated at the XFL level before returning to the NFL with the Broncos in 2023.

And while he now works as a television commentator, DiNiccu's playing career might not be over just yet. He was signed by the Broncos as an emergency third quarterback prior to the AFC Championship after starter Bo Nix went down with a broken ankle. DiNucci's contract expired after the season, so he's now a free agent again.

DiNicci's message to prospects ended with hope: "Your journey is just beginning, take advantage of every day!!"
