Will Giants take a big free-agent swing up front? What I’m hearing at the NFL combine | The Athletic

It’s harder than usual to get a handle on how the New York Giants will operate in free agency since John Harbaugh is driving the process for the first time. Even trying to draw on trends from Harbaugh’s time in Baltimore is tricky since he didn’t have the same level of personnel authority there.

John Harbaugh, Giants: No. 1 in a country mile. A few reasons why…

Nobody builds a staff like the former Ravens boss. Harbaugh knows who to empower and when to evolve. He’s not reactive to NFL trends — he sets the trends. A true CEO who stays three chess moves ahead schematically in all three phases. Much like Mike Vrabel with the Patriots, expect the 2012 Super Bowl champ to walk into the building with a clear, concise vision for what it takes to clean up the New York Giants. Yes, right down to those dirty washcloths like Vrabel in Foxborough. The little things matter. The big things matter. Harbaugh has been around since 1998 but is never afraid to innovate. His first staff is full of exceptional hires — Chad Hall will take Malik Nabers to a higher level and Brian Callahan is a steal. Twenty mill is twenty mill, I know. But Harbaugh also took this job because he believes in Jaxson Dart, much like Vrabel believed in Drake Maye. The key: Keeping the QB healthy. What could go wrong? It’s not like we’ve been high on the Giants offseasons past.

Mansoor Delane could be Giants’ answer at cornerback in NFL draft — but there’s a Cor’Dale Flott twist | New York Post

How badly do the Giants need a cornerback? That depends on what happens in free agency with Cor’Dale Flott. There is strong interest in bringing him back, and what level Flott believes his market value lands likely will tell the tale, as far as if he stays or goes. The Giants already have big money invested in a No. 1 corner — Paulson Adebo arrived in 2025 on a three-year deal worth $54 million, and Flott will not approach those numbers.

If Flott does not return, the Giants need a new starter at a key position. There is no one on the current roster to move in. Yes, Deonte Banks is still around, but the 2023 first-round pick saw his playing time take a dive and he was relegated to returning kickoffs as a special teamer. There is absolutely every reason to believe his roster spot is tenuous, at best, as it is hard to envision new head coach Harbaugh being a fan of anything — other than raw physical ability — Banks brings to the field or the locker room.

How the Epstein files stopped me from rooting for my favorite NFL team | MS NOW

I’m 48 years old, and I have been a New York Giants fan since I was a child. I’m also the survivor of a childhood sexual assault perpetrated by someone who was never held accountable. Files released by the Department of Justice four weeks ago reveal that Giants co-owner Steve Tisch was one of many prominent men who enjoyed a cozy relationship with the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. And I can no longer, in good conscience, be a fan of the New York Giants as long as Tisch remains a part of the team’s ownership group.
