Chargers to Release Mekhi Becton

The Chargers would save $9.7 million in cap space by cutting Becton, who signed a two-year deal last March but played in just 15 regular season games at right guard. The move would leave $2.5 million in dead money on the books for the team.

Becton, a 2020 Jets first-round pick, struggled with injuries early in his career but won a starting job with the Eagles in 2024. His performance helping Philadelphia to a Super Bowl win set him up for his contract with Los Angeles, where he also started the team's playoff loss to the Patriots.
