Four-star linebacker Cooper Witten committed to Oklahoma on Tuesday, selecting the Sooners over SEC rivals Georgia, Texas A&M, and Tennessee.
The commitment strengthens Oklahoma's 2027 recruiting class to No. 2 nationally, behind only Ohio State. Witten joins his father, former NFL star Jason Witten, who was hired as tight ends coach two months ago. Despite the family connection, Cooper stated the decision was based on finding the best fit with head coach Brent Venables.
