Hearts manager Derek McInnes is receiving valuable advice from Manchester United legend Alex Ferguson as he bids to guide his side to a first Scottish title in 64 years.

McInnes, aiming to become the first non-Old Firm manager to win the league since Ferguson led Aberdeen to glory in 1985, spoke of the mentorship. The 84-year-old Ferguson will be in the stands for Saturday's clash with Aberdeen as the leaders look to extend their advantage over Celtic.

McInnes described the chats as "good as gold," noting Ferguson's experience in high-pressure title run-ins.
