Lincoln Stuns O'Dea in Basketball Upset

No. 6 Lincoln High School stunned favored No. 2 O'Dea 71-58 in a Class 3A state tournament regional game, advancing to the quarterfinals.

Lincoln, a Tacoma team and No. 6 seed, picked apart the favored Metro League squad in Bellevue on Saturday. Sophomore duo Justus Holt and Davion Shareef-Dulaney led the charge with 23 and 22 points respectively, helping the Abes secure their spot in the 3A state tournament quarterfinals.

The win was particularly meaningful for Lincoln, which has historically been overshadowed by Seattle's Metro League teams. "We just came to shut them up," Shareef-Dalaney said of the 206 pride that motivated the team. The Abes will now have a bye into next Thursday's quarterfinals at the Tacoma Dome.
