McLaughlin Secures Pole at IndyCar St. Pete

Team Penske driver Scott McLaughlin secured pole position for the IndyCar Series season opener at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, clocking a lap of 1:00.5426.

McLaughlin described his qualifying performance as 'bloody good, bloody good' after taking the 14-turn course in 107.032 mph. This marks the third pole of his career at the Florida event and the eighth for Team Penske in 15 years.

Andretti Global’s Marcus Ericsson will start alongside him on the front row, while rookie Dennis Hauger secured third place in the Firestone Fast Six.
