Okonkwo Cleared to Join Nigeria's Super Eagles

FIFA has cleared 24‑year‑old goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo to represent Nigeria, after his switch from England.

The 1.98‑metre tall keeper, currently Wrexham United’s first‑choice, has played 31 Championship matches this season, keeping seven clean sheets.

Born in England to Nigerian parents, Okonkwo progressed through Arsenal’s youth system and represented England at U15‑U18 levels before opting for Nigeria. With the switch approved, he could be a contender for the Super Eagles’ starting spot if called up by coach Eric Chel.
