Red Sox Sign Navajo Utility Seigler

The Boston Red Sox have acquired 26-year-old utility player Anthony Seigler, who becomes the second Navajo player in MLB history after Jacoby Ellsbury.

Seigler, a first-round pick of the Yankees who later played for the Brewers, brings versatility to Boston after starting 25 games at third base for Milwaukee in 2025. The left-handed hitter has shown promise at Triple-A with a .285/.414/.478 line, though his MLB batting average is just .194 in limited action.

A former two-way player who also pitched, Seigler has drawn walks at nearly 20% rate throughout his professional career and has experience catching, playing second base, and third base. The 26-year-old from Cartersville, Georgia was drafted three picks ahead of Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas by New York.
