Rutgers Hires Joe Evans as Assistant Defensive Line Coach

Rutgers has signed former Drake defensive line coach Joe Evans as its new assistant defensive line coach, bringing experience from a single season at Drake and a standout Iowa playing career.

Rutgers Football announced the hiring of Joe Evans as its assistant defensive line coach, working under new defensive line coach Dennis Dottin‑Carter. Evans joins fellow former Drake coaches Joe Woodley and Adam Cox on the Rutgers defensive staff.

Evans spent one season at Drake, helping develop linemen who recorded multiple sacks, and previously walked on at Iowa where he finished with 135 tackles, 28 sacks and 35 tackles for loss. He also had a brief stint on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad before joining Rutgers.
