The Olympic showdown between the U.S. and Canada drew an average live audience of 18.6 million viewers on NBC and Peacock. Jack Hughes' overtime winner secured the U.S. their first men's Olympic hockey gold since the 1980 'Miracle on Ice'.

The U.S. women's team also captured gold with a 2-1 overtime victory over Canada, drawing 5.3 million viewers and setting a record for the most-watched women's hockey game. Both wins helped NBC achieve its largest Winter Games weekday audience since 2014, with Thursday's coverage averaging 26.7 million viewers.
