WNBA Union Sends Counterproposal with Revenue Sharing and Housing Concessions

The WNBA players’ union has sent a counterproposal to the league, proposing 26% of gross revenue and revised housing rules, with a deadline of March 10 to secure a season start.

The union’s offer keeps the 26% share of gross revenue from its earlier proposal but reduces the revenue‑sharing percentage from 27.5% to 26%. It also tweaks housing: teams must provide housing for all players in the early years, but after a few years players earning at least 75% of the maximum salary may not require team‑provided housing.

The league has set a March 10 deadline for a deal to allow the season to start on time. If agreed, the CBA would likely be signed by month‑end, with the expansion draft for Portland and Toronto slated for early April and free‑agent qualifying offers to follow.
