Coolidge Athletics Placed on Probation by AIA

The Arizona Interscholastic Association imposed the sanctions after video evidence showed Coolidge players taunting opponents during their 64-53 quarterfinal victory over Chinle. The penalties include a playoff ban for all teams, with Coolidge appealing the decision that would disqualify them from this Friday's 3A state semifinal against Snowflake.

Arizona state legislator Myron Tsosie commented on the incident, stating he had received numerous messages from Chinle families and fans regarding "unfortunate events." If upheld, the sanctions would make all Coolidge athletic teams ineligible for postseason play during the one-year period, per AIA Bylaw 16.1.
