Gonzaga wins Game 3, Oklahoma takes series

Gonzaga defeated No. 13 Oklahoma in the series finale, but the Sooners claimed the three-game series with wins in Games 1 and 2.

Gonzaga's Mikey Bell hit a two-run home run in the second inning that proved to be the difference in Sunday's finale. Starter Karsten Sweum pitched effectively for the Zags, allowing just three hits and one run while striking out seven. Oklahoma's Brendan Brock hit a solo homer in the sixth, but it wasn't enough as Gonzaga broke the game open with five runs in the eighth inning.

The loss was only Oklahoma's second of the season. The Sooners improved to 25-2 overall with the series victory and will host Dallas Baptist on Tuesday before facing Santa Clara in a three-game series next weekend.
