Pickens Strikes Out 15 as Tennessee Beats Appalachian State

Karlyn Pickens tied a career high with 15 strikeouts, leading top-ranked Tennessee to a 6-2 victory over Appalachian State in the Tennessee Invitational finale.

Karlyn Pickens pitched a complete game for the Lady Vols (19-0), throwing 124 pitches with 75 strikes while allowing just two hits and two runs. Ella Dodge provided offensive power with a three-run homer and four RBIs as Tennessee totaled nine hits in the win.

The top-ranked Lady Vols will return to action on Tuesday against Belmont at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. First pitch for the in-state matchup is slated for 5 p.m. EST and can be watched on SEC Network+.
