Texas A&M arrived at the 2026 NFL Combine with a program‑record 13 participants, and on the opening day of testing, one former Aggie has wasted no time separating himself from the pack.
Albert Regis, a longtime anchor of Texas A&M’s interior defensive line, is putting together one of the most impressive performances among defensive tackles. Known throughout his college career for his explosiveness, high motor, and ability to collapse the pocket, Regis is now backing that reputation with elite athletic testing in Indianapolis.
Regis’s best season came as a senior, when he posted 49 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, and 2.0 sacks, but his impact always extended beyond the box score. Interior defenders rarely rack up gaudy numbers—what matters is how consistently they disrupt blocking schemes and force quarterbacks off their spot. In a league increasingly focused on neutralizing edge rushers, controlling the middle of the field has become one of the most valuable traits a defensive lineman can offer.
While Regis may not measure in as one of the biggest or longest prospects in this year’s defensive tackle class, he is testing like one of the most explosive. His 9’8” broad jump, the best mark among all defensive tackles, showcased the lower‑body power that defined his game in College Station. He followed that up with a pair of impressive 40‑yard dash times—4.92 on his first attempt and 4.88 on his second, the fifth‑fastest among defensive tackles—paired with a strong 1.73-second 10‑yard split that reflects his first‑step quickness.
For a player whose calling card has always been disruption, today’s numbers only reinforce what Texas A&M coaches long believed: Regis has the athletic profile to carve out a role at the next level.
Below you can find his 40‑yard dash results and video of his on‑field drills.
