No Interest! Moreno Immediately Shuts Down UFC White House Chatter

Brandon Moreno has no desire to fight at the White House.

The promotion’s $60 million mega card is the most highly anticipated event of the year, already promoted more than the average champion. Since the initial announcement and promise of an ultra stacked event, countless fighters have openly begged for their chance to be featured on the South Lawn and compete in front of President Donald Trump.

Don’t count Moreno among that bunch! While answering questions ahead of his UFC Mexico City main event versus Lone’er Kavanagh this weekend, Moreno quickly shut down talks of trying to get booked at the White House.

“Brother, I want you to tell me why would I want to fight there?” an incredulous Moreno replied when asked about possibly representing Mexican talent to the event. “[It’s special] for who? For you? No, I’m not interested, thank you.”

Somehow, I doubt the Flyweight division will be prominently featured at the White House anyway.

As for Moreno, his bout against Kavanagh is a hugely important booking for the former champion. Though the matchup was put together at the last-second after an unfortunate injury, Moreno’s position remains the same: he needs a win! “The Assassin Baby” was finished for the first time as a professional in his last appearance, suffering a controversial strikes stoppage to Tatsuro Taira at UFC 323 in December.

If the 32-year-old combatant is to remain in title contention, he has to bounce back here.
